Volunteer Information
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Discovery Ball on October 29th!
The 2016 Discovery Ball will take place at the JW Marriott Indianapolis on October 29, 2016. More than 550 guests are expected to attend the black tie event and will include: corporate, sponsors, business and philanthropic leaders and guests. Attention to every detail of the guest experience is of the utmost importance and will be reflected in the training and roles for all volunteers at the event.
More than 50 volunteers are needed and we have something for everyone! If you'd like to volunteer for any of the roles listed below, please contact Jessica McCrea at the Discovery Ball office by email at

Volunteer Opportunities
Although the evening is black tie, we do not anticipate that all of our volunteers will have formal-wear. For ladies we suggest formal attire or a black dress/black suit. For gentlemen, we recommend a black suit or black slacks and white shirt.
Set-up Volunteer (Casual)
Assist in the set-up process and general event needs.
Registration Volunteer (Formal)
Welcome guests as they arrive and assist in the registration process. Computer skills required.
Silent Auction Volunteer (Formal)
Monitor the silent auction area and encourage bidding on items.
Greeter (Formal)
Welcome guests as they arrive at each area of the event.
Table Hosts & Live Auction Volunteers (Formal)
During the evening program, greet guests and work with the auction team to facilitate the completion of reporting documents for winning bidders for the live auction portion of the evening.
Departure Assistance Volunteer (Formal)
Assist in the silent auction check out process and/or distribute departure gifts to guests.
